What have we become

Much has been said, reported, analyzed and discussed over poor little Nurin Jazlin. Much tears, grief and overwhelming sadness overcame many around the nation. And I too wasn't spared. Deep pangs of sadness overcame me at times...for the little girl, for her parents and family, and for the society that has become what it is now...an ugly, and dangerous society for us, let alone small, innocent children to live in.

What I couldn't shake off was the absolute hell that poor little Nurin went through the 30 days prior to her death. MasyaAllah, I cannot even imagine the terror that she must have felt then - day in, day out. It makes many wonder why He has allowed this monstrosity to happen.

But Nasreen, my good friend, you have again put things in perspective, like you always do. To never question the will of God. For He is the Almighty, Maha Penyayang Lagi Bijaksana.

And here, I'd like to share you her assuring words to whoever's reading this, and hoped that it'll comfort you, as it did me.

I just got back from my company's buka puasa when I heard the news. The swelling has subsided and now the parents can recognize her. I couldn't stop myself from crying. Like you, I questioned many things. Then it hit me...Allah itu Maha Pengasih dan Penyayang. If I am sad, if I feel the love for this child, apa lagi Allah?

HE cooled the fire of which Nabi Ibrahim was thrown into.
HE replace Nabi Isa before he was crucified.
HE replaced Masyitah with the devil when Firaun wants to "be" with her. Hence, she never had a child. That's why Nabi Musa was given to her.

HE will no let Nurin suffer. I tell myself. I pray he replaced Nurin long before any it happened. I pray HE replaced it with the devil. The devil that will be the companion to the BEASTS who ravaged Nurin's body. Perhaps that's why her parents can't recognize her. That's why only when she returned home, she is herself, like the Nurin her parents remember.

Still, I feel for her parents. I am grieving for her parents.

There were callers from the radio who said, we should now take care of each other's kids. Kena jaga tepi kain orang. Know who our neighbors are, who their children are..I couldn't agree more.

Al-Fatihah to little Nurin Jazlin.

Salam Raggedy Anne, Nadia,

Been hopping on your blogs too! :) Anyhoo, glad that it comforted you too. I pray to Allah that she was indeed replaced way before anything happened. Perhaps that's why her parents/relatives can't even tell it was her until after the mandi jenazah, that's when her real features appeared. At least, as what's been reported in the papers and in her uncle's blog. Wallahualam.

Be careful y'all.

Babybooned,

Am glad it comforted you too. The world's a crazy place, innit? Couldn't recall if it was this dangerous back then.

And today, I've heard a boy got his fingers cut off by his demented uncle who put him on ransom.

Sigh...
